Community guidelines
Exegetical’s community tools are for thoughtful, respectful study. Effective November 3, 2026.
Be considerate
Discuss ideas without attacking people. Different Christian traditions and other readers may interpret a passage differently. Ask questions in good faith, distinguish a source’s words from your interpretation, and respect someone’s choice not to continue a conversation.
Respect boundaries
Send requests only to people you want to study with. Acceptance is voluntary. Do not repeatedly contact someone who declined, blocked or unfriended you. Do not impersonate another person, pressure people for personal details or share private messages, pictures or identifying details without permission.
What is not allowed
Threats, targeted harassment, hate, exploitation, sexual content involving minors, scams, unwanted sexual contact, spam, malware, doxxing and other unlawful content are prohibited. Do not use this service to recruit people into harmful activity or to pressure vulnerable people. Do not upload material that infringes someone else’s rights.
Use the controls
Direct messages require an accepted friendship. Group conversations can include other participants you are not friends with. Use Block to stop direct contact and messages between you and that person in shared groups. You can leave a group or report a profile or message privately to the operator. You can retract your own messages, but cannot recall screenshots or copies made elsewhere. Reports are manually reviewed; there is no promise of continuous monitoring or a specific response time.
Safety and enforcement
This is not an emergency or crisis-response service. For an immediate threat, contact appropriate local emergency services. The operator may review reported content, remove material, restrict accounts or preserve relevant records where necessary. Use the request form to explain a concern or ask about an enforcement decision. Include context without reposting sensitive details publicly.
